Elwood P. Dowd is wealthy. He is perfectly amiable and completely happy. And … he has a screw loose. His only problem? It’s his best friend Harvey, a very tall white rabbit, invisible to everybody but Elwood. The twist comes when his sister tries to have Elwood committed to a mental institution. Before long, she herself is locked up there, which entails a series of comedic misunderstandings and absurdly funny scenes, all orchestrated – or not - by a very tall white rabbit…
A night at Vienna’s English Theatre in Josefsgasse is one of the extracurricular activities offered to our “Top League” students and so it was on the 13th December that some 20 Top Leaguers and teachers of our school went to see Harvey (mind the pun!) in Mary Chase’s Pulitzer-Prize winning play.
